Note:

Starting from Android 9 (LineageOS 16), hotspot IP addresses are no longer fixed at 192.168.43.1 and are randomly assigned with each activation. This change affects the functionality described. To adapt to this alteration, users on Android 9 must identify the new IP address of the hotspot and update the default gateway for connected devices accordingly.

If experiencing connectivity issues, the root cause lies in incorrect IP configuration disseminated by the VPN tethering device to client devices upon connection. However, users can manually assign static IP addresses, gateway settings, and DNS configurations to said client devices.
